Reflection
Psalm 126 begins with the joy of restoration, but by verse 4, the people of God are asking God to help them once more. They remembered what God had already done, but they still needed Him to do something again. Yesterday’s deliverance does not mean there will be no more challenges today. But remembering what God has already done can give us the strength to trust Him for what He will do tomorrow.
As Christians and children of the Most High God, we must continue to trust the LORD to work all things together for our good. Although we may hurt and weep sometimes, we must still hold on to hope, believing that God is at work even when we cannot yet see what He is doing.
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.” – Proverbs 3:5–6
Prayer
Merciful God, in the name of Jesus, thank You for reminding me that even when I can’t see what tomorrow holds, I can still put my trust in You. When I am hurting, weary, or uncertain about tomorrow, help me remember what You have already done in my life. Strengthen my heart when I feel discouraged and renew my hope when I grow weary. Help me to trust that You are working all things together for my good, even when I don’t understand what You’re doing or where You’re leading me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
