Reflection

The Apostle Paul has already addressed the spiritual privileges of the Jewish people, and today, through Jesus Christ, those spiritual blessings are available to all who have accepted Him as Lord and Savior. But Paul now makes something equally clear: neither Jews nor Gentiles have grounds for claiming moral superiority. All are under sin.

Paul writes, “There is none righteous, no, not one,” reminding us that none of us should point at somebody else’s sin as though we have none of our own.

It’s easy to recognize pride, dishonesty, anger, selfishness, bitterness, or wrongdoing in another person; but when those same things begin showing up in us, it seems much harder to admit. So before we point a finger outward, Romans 3:9–18 invites us to look inward.

The Apostle is reminding us that none of us is righteous because of our own goodness. We all need God. But when reverence for God disappears, people begin living as though they answer only to themselves. “There is no fear of God before their eyes.” When we truly recognize who God is and who we are before Him, there is little room left for pride and even less room for pointing fingers at someone else.

So the question today is: “What is God showing me about me?”

Prayer

Merciful God, in the name of Jesus, help us to see ourselves honestly before we examine the faults of others.

Forgive us for the times we have been quick to recognize sin in someone else while overlooking what needs to change within us. Search our hearts, correct our attitudes, guard our words, and help our actions reflect You.

Keep us humble enough to remember that we are not made righteous by our own goodness. We need Your grace, Your mercy, and Your transforming power every day.

Help us to walk in reverence before You and to extend to others the same mercy we continually need from You.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Have a MARVELOUS MONDAY and MIRACULOUS GOD-FILLED week.

KEEP THE FAITH!
